How much does it cost?
Nothing, to us. Our coaching, lesson plans, and practice problems are 100% free, and there is no fee of any kind to join a class — we started this program because STEM coaching can be costly, and we never want cost to be the reason a kid doesn't get taught.
The contests are separate from us. Noetic, MOEMS, and Math Kangaroo each set their own registration fee, and if you decide to enter your child, you pay it directly to them when you register. We don't collect it, we don't mark it up, and we're a volunteer student group with no budget to cover it. But entering a contest is entirely optional — see below.
Does my child have to compete? What if we skip the exam?
Skipping it is completely fine, and it costs your child nothing here. The coaching is the whole program, not a warm-up act for a test — we teach the logic patterns, the shortcuts, and the way of attacking a hard problem, and none of that is contingent on registering for anything.
Plenty of our students train with us and never sit a contest. They came for the problem-solving, and they get all of it. Your child's spot, their small group, their coach, and the material they're taught are identical either way. If you'd rather your child just learn the skills, tell us on the sign-up form and we'll place them exactly the same — we won't follow up about registration.
Where and when are the classes?
Classes are in person at E.M. Grimmer, Fred E. Weibel, and Warm Springs Elementary schools in Fremont, CA. When you sign up, we'll follow up with the current schedule for your grade and track.
My child has never done a math contest. Can they still join?
Yes — that's exactly who we built this for. Noetic is a friendly first contest, and our Math Foundations track (K–5) is the on-ramp if your child is starting from zero. Our coaches started where your child is now.
Who teaches the sessions?
High school students who competed in — and aced — these same contests, each bringing their own honors and recent experience. All are trained, vetted, and supported by an adult advisory board of parents that reviews curriculum and oversees safety.
When does the Math Kangaroo track start?
January 2027, for grades 2–5. Sign up now and we'll reserve a spot and contact you before kickoff. Noetic & MOEMS Tournament Prep and Math Foundations are enrolling now.
What standards does the Math Foundations track follow?
Our content follows Common Core Standards, and we mix in competition-style problems to build real math fluency beyond the textbook.
I'm a high schooler — do I need contest experience to coach?
No. Contest experience helps, but "none yet, I'm strong in math" is an option on the coach sign-up form. We provide training, materials, and mentorship to turn you into a confident coach — and you earn verified volunteer hours.

What information do you collect about my child?
As little as we can: your child's name and grade, which program you want, and your own name and email so we can send you the schedule. A parent or guardian fills in every sign-up — children never create accounts or submit anything to us. We run no ads and no tracking, we never sell family information, and we delete your child's record whenever you ask. The full details are in our
